Construction started late last year on the Nerang Fire and Rescue Station and it was expected to be open in February this year but delays have meant that locals are still waiting.

Its now June and the final touches are being placed on that station and the official opening and operations should start very shortly.  Nerang and surrounding residents will soon have the added protection of having a local Nerang Fire Station combined with the Nerang Ambulance Station that opened in early 2007.
